What Your Wedding Food Says About You

White dresses, diamond ring,s and fancy cakes represent the great American wedding traditions. These traditions are some of the very few that continue to grow more and more popular as time goes on. Yet, there is one custom almost every culture keeps at the union of a man and woman. They all have a feast. At Heirloom Catering we want to give you a few tips on what should be served on your big day so you can understand what your wedding food says about you!

Now, when planning a wedding, there are always two competing factors, expense and convenience. An elegant wedding does not need to cost you your first born child, but the wedding food is not the place to skimp. The less you pay the more likely you are to be doing the dirty work yourself. Our advice is not to do it. You can save in other areas like setting the tables yourself, going with a DJ instead of a live band, or choosing to not serve alcoholic beverages.  But again this is about what your wedding food says about you on your wedding day, so here are a few options depending on your preferences.

The Brunch Reception

Despite the fact that you would have to rise at the crack of dawn, a brunch reception can be elegant and inexpensive. Fruit, muffins, and other breakfast items would be served at around 10 or 11 a.m.

The Luncheon Reception

After a late morning wedding a luncheon reception is perfect. One can easily make and serve sandwiches, salad, and fruit. Fairly inexpensive, and generally quite yummy, the luncheon is a very popular choice.

The Dessert Reception
This one is easy enough. Serve your favorite deserts. You can invite a lot of people and spend very little money on feeding them.

The Dinner Reception

Then there is the traditional dinner reception. Usually you would provide appetizing food at a fair cost. But like we said before, it is worth it.

Now, some people are inclined to try and do all of it themselves to save a few dollars. It’s not worth the headache! As professional caterers, Heirloom will ensure the food tastes good, will be the right temperature when served, and the right amount of food will be made for the guests!

All we need you to do is choose the food and decide if it will be buffet or sit-down style. Again, we want you to choose a meal that will reflect your personality, your style. Let what your wedding food says about you represent everything you want your future marriage to be! Call Heirloom Catering today!
